I went to write another note, but remembered that the guard had taken my pencil lead. I daren't use the pencil I keep with my diary, or they will discover this too.

I've sat here all day trying to decipher the writing on the note. The ink has run from the disinfectant. Maybe I should just write another note anyway.

I was bought back to my cell today. A cold two days in solitare confinement wasn't quite what I needed. My cell has been washed out with disinfectant and I've found a soggy piece of paper in the corner.

My light was switched off today and my pencil lead taken away. The Guard said I'd be taken to solitary confinement in the morning. I hope my friend doesn't reply!

I am not sure what to do now. The guards know that I have written notes, but do I write a reply to the other cellmate? I decided to write one with my left hand, then they won't think it's me.
